How to book and start your e-bike adventure

Collection

Collect your e-bikes at 10:00 AM from our shop located at Headcorn Aerodrome, TN27 9HX. Your what3words address is ///handrail.sizzled.proves.

Navigation

To navigate your adventure, you’ll receive a link to RideWithGPS before your arrival. Simply log in to this free and easy-to-use app on your mobile phone and choose your desired tour, or explore your own planned routes.

Return

Return your e-bike to the shop by 4:00 PM. We provide locks, helmets, pannier bags for your finds, and mobile phone holders. You’ll also receive full training before you set off.

Frequently asked questions about e-bike hire

1. Age Requirement

You must be aged 14 or above to hire an e-bike.

2. Weather Rescheduling Policy

UK Electric Bike Centre reserves the right to reschedule your e-bike hire in the event of bad weather. Should you wish to reschedule, please call us to arrange a new date.

3. Late Return Charges

Returns after 4:00 PM will incur a late return charge of £15 per bike, per 15 minutes.

4. Tyre Specification

Our ebikes come with puncture-resistant tyres which are filled with specialist sealant for added protection.

5. Battery Range and Charging

Our ebikes have a 50-mile range battery. Routes average 35 miles, and all batteries are fully charged before you arrive.

6. Operating Season

Hiring is available from the 1st of March to the 30th of September.

UKEBC HIRE terms and conditions

For the purpose of the UKEBC Terms and Conditions ‘The Hirer’ is the Group Leader who made the booking with UK Electric Bike Centre.

  1. Up to £1000 per bike will be charged if any bike is returned not in the same condition as start of hire.
  2. UK Electric Bike Centre agrees to rent the bike(s) to the Hirer subject to the terms and conditions set out herein. UK Electric Bike Centre and the Hirer are the only parties to this Agreement, notwithstanding that a reservation for the bike may have been arranged by a third party or that a third party may pay for all or part of the hire. The Hirer is the sole lessee and is solely responsible for compliance with all terms and conditions contained herein.
  3. The Hirer agrees to return the bike(s) to UK Electric Bike Centre in the same condition received, ordinary wear and tear excepted.
  4. The Hirer agrees not to use a bike for onward hire or reward, nor use it in violation of any law, ordinance or regulation, nor remove it (without prior written consent of UK Electric Bike Centre) from England, Scotland or Wales.
  5. The Hirer hereby warrants and undertakes to UK Electric Bike Centre that he will not operate the bike or permit the bike to be operated whilst unfit through drink or drugs or with blood alcohol concentration above the limit prescribed for the time being by road traffic legislation.
  6. The Hirer hereby warrants and undertakes to UK Electric Bike Centre that he will further protect the interests of the bike by ensuring the bike is always locked when unattended.
  7. If the Hirer commits any breach of these terms and conditions UK Electric Bike Centre may treat the agreement as terminated and may seize, without legal process, or notice to the Hirer, the bike at any time or place and the Hirer waives all claims for damages connected with such seizure.
  8. The Hirer expressly agrees to pay UK Electric Bike Centre on demand all fines and court costs including administrative fees for parking, bus lane, traffic or other legal violations assessed against the bike, the Hirer or UK Electric Bike Centre during the hire.
  9. The Hirer expressly agrees to pay UK Electric Bike Centre on demand a reasonable administrative handling fee for processing any fine or legal violation against the bike, the Hirer or UK Electric Bike Centre during the hire except where caused by UK Electric Bike Centre’s default.
  10. The Hirer expressly agrees to pay UK Electric Bike Centre on demand Value Added Tax and all other taxes (if any) payable on the aforesaid items.
  11. The Hirer expressly agrees to pay UK Electric Bike Centre on demand UK Electric Bike Centre’s costs, including reasonable legal fees where permitted by law, incurred collecting payments due from the Hirer here under.
  12. The Hirer expressly agrees to pay UK Electric Bike Centre on demand the fair market value of repairing damage howsoever caused to the actual bike supplied.
  13. The Hirer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold UK Electric Bike Centre harmless from all losses, liabilities, damages, injuries, claims, demands, costs and expenses (except where caused by UK Electric Bike Centre negligence or default) incurred by UK Electric Bike Centre in any manner from this rental transaction.
  14. Use of the UK Electric Bike Centre electric bikes open to all persons over the age of 14. Persons over the age of 14 but under the age of 16 must have the written permission of a parent or guardian to register to use the system and the written permission of the nominated payer to make payment for the hire of the bike. (Written permission to be sent to UK Electric Bike Centre’s address.)
  15. Persons over the age of 14 but under the age of 16 must also provide evidence of proficiency to ride on the road, if required to do so.
  16. When you accept the application form you are declaring that you are physically fit enough to ride a bicycle and also that you are reasonably competent to ride on the road.
  17. Once the hire has commenced, the Hirer has full responsibility over the bicycle. Should the Hirer not have taken out appropriate insurance they will be liable for all costs in the event of damage to the bike, themselves or third parties or theft whilst the bike is in their care.
  18. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that ALL bicycles are in proper working order BEFORE the hire takes place; this includes brakes, lights, steering, tyres and drive shaft including pedals. If there are any problems with the bicycle then this must be reported immediately to UK Electric Bike Centre where another bike may be allocated.
  19. Any wilful or negligent act of destruction of the UK Electric Bike Centre property will result in prosecution to the fullest extent of the law and UK Electric Bike Centre will seek the recovery of all costs and administration charges from the defendant.
  20. The UK Electric Bike Centre cycles are for the exclusive use of the Hirer only. All other situations will invalidate the hire conditions and any insurance cover.
  21. The rear rack is intended to carry light goods only. DO NOT fill with heavy items as this may affect your balance, steering control as well as safety and comfort.
  22. If an accident should occur due to the carriage of an over-weight or awkward load then the Hirer is liable for all costs and the insurance becomes void.
  23. If any of the working parts should become defective whilst riding an UK Electric Bike Centre, the rider must STOP and call UK Electric Bike Centre customer services. They may issue another bike or arrange to pick up the faulty cycle.
  24. DO NOT pull off, unscrew, or attempt to undo the bicycle and its parts as this may lead to steering defects, mal-align the frame or cause undue ‘wear and tear’ to the tyres.
  25. DO NOT use the UK Electric Bike Centre and its bicycles for racing, mountain bike riding, stunt or trick riding or for any other purpose other than riding to and from a destination.
  26. In the event of a puncture or burst tyre, the Hirer should STOP riding and call UK Electric Bike Centre customer services.
  27. UK Electric Bike Centre reserves the right to cancel any contract/hire agreement at any time with a customer without prior arrangement or written warning if the customer is in default hereunder.

Payment and Cancellation

  1. All hires must be paid in advance of the hire and can not be cancelled within 24 hours unless weather is inclement and dangerous to ride the bikes.
  2. We reserve the right to cancel and refund a hire due to weather or within 24 hours of the hire, we do however endeavour to change to an alternative date in this circumstance.
  3. On the day of hire, we reserve the right to cancel the hire if you arrive after 10.30 with no refund, unless you have contacted the shop prior to rearrange the date.
  4. All bikes must be returned by 4pm otherwise a penalty can be charged at £10 per bike per 15 minutes. This is charged at the discretion of the UK Electric Bike Centre.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS THE LIABILTY OF UK Electric Bike Centre FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY THE UK ELECTRIC BIKE CENTRES NEGLIGENCE. OTHERWISE UK Electric Bike Centre TOTAL LIABILTIY IN CONTRACT, TORT, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND BREACH OF STATUTORY DUTY, MISREPRESENTATION, RESTITUTION OR OTHERWISE, ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THE HIRE SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT IT RECEIVES HEREUNDER. UK Electric Bike Centre SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE HIRER FOR ANY PURE ECONOMIC LOSS, LOSS OF PROFIT OR LOSSES OF BUSINESS IN EACH CASE WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL OR ANY CLAIMS FOR CONSEQUENTIAL COMPENSTION WHATSOEVER AND HOWSOEVER CAUSED WHICH ARISES UNDER THE HIRE.
